$40 million in revenue could fund mass list of new county projects

Colleton County voters will quickly get an opportunity to resolve if the county’s present one-cent further gross sales tax will proceed for seven extra years. If permitted by voters, this choice would generate about $40 million in further money for the county.

The one-cent gross sales tax, which is known as the Capital Mission Gross sales Tax, will likely be on the November poll through referendum. If Colleton County voters approve this referendum, the present one-cent gross sales tax will proceed and can fund the development of 11 new tasks, together with a group pool on the Colleton County Recreation Middle.

Within the final eight years, the one-cent gross sales tax has been in place.
