Councillor suspended from Alliance Party dies suddenly

A councillor who was suspended from the Alliance Party six months in the past has died all of the sudden.

Glenn Finlay was a councillor in Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council for the Dunsilly space.

In December, Mr Finlay was suspended from the Alliance Occasion on account of “ongoing investigations”.

The councillor, who was elected for the Dunsilly space in 2019, had remained in his council function as an impartial.

The Alliance Occasion confirmed his loss of life in a press release.

A celebration spokesman mentioned: “We’re shocked by the sudden loss of life of Glenn Finlay.

“We’d ask folks respect the privateness of his household at this very tough time and we prolong to them our sincerest condolences.”

A spokeswoman for Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council mentioned: “The council is sorry to be taught of the passing of Councillor Glenn Finlay. Our ideas and prayers are together with his household at this tough time.”
