Kerry councillor calls for landowners along South Kerry Greenway route to benefit from initiative

A Kerry councillor desires to see landowners alongside the South Kerry Greenway path to be included within the nationwide code of apply.

Fianna Fáil councillor Michael Cahill says the Code of Finest Apply for Greenways, introduced by Transport Infrastructure Eire and the Irish Farmers’ Affiliation, is a giant step in the suitable route for landowners.

Cllr Cahill provides that underneath this code, landowners can make use of an agronomist or property advisor to establish honest compensation.

The Fianna Fáil councillor says an important a part of the framework is a once-off goodwill fee for every farmer impacted by a greenway, given for early sign-on and co-operation throughout development.

He’s calling on the Atmosphere Minister, TII and IFA to incorporate landowners alongside the South Kerry Greenway route within the code of apply, to allow them to profit from it too.
